Among all table games, roulette stands out as the most glamorous and elegant — it’s often called the “Queen of the Casino.”
But did you know it has another name?

That name is,

Devil’s Game

Pretty ominous.
Not exactly a great omen.

The reason comes down to the numbers on the roulette wheel.
Roulette is made up of 0 and the numbers 1 through 36, right?
The European version, that is.

Add those numbers up, starting from 0.

0+1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17+18+19+20+21+22+23+24+25+26+27+28+29+30+31+32+33+34+35+36=666

If you’re into urban legends, you probably know this one — it’s the devil’s number.

In the New Testament Book of Revelation, there’s a reference to the “Number of the Beast” — and that number is 666.
The Beast symbolizes a force opposed to God — an antichrist-like power. In other words: evil.
There are several theories about what it refers to, but the most widely accepted is that when you write “Emperor Nero” — the ruthless tyrant infamous for persecuting Christians — in Hebrew and convert the letters to numbers, they add up to 666.

So it started as a coded reference to a terrifying emperor who persecuted Christians — but because it pointed to someone demonic, the number 666 became associated with “the symbol of evil,” “a sign of the apocalypse” — a “cursed number” in every sense.

And honestly — roulette is elegant and glamorous, sure, but it’s still gambling, and it can drive people over the edge. The image of a devil’s game wearing a queen’s crown doesn’t feel that far off.

Speaking of which, there’s also a roulette strategy called the 666 Roulette Strategy.
Also named after the devil’s number.

It’s a relatively high win-rate method, but it’s also a bet where you lose 66 units 10.8% of the time — which does feel kind of demonic. And the game itself is built on the devil’s number, so…

The whole thing is cursed.
That said, 666 Strategy and reckless bets like that? Not my style.

Actually, the Queen’s devilish side kind of reminds me of zero, doesn’t it?
Zero beats both red and black, right?
Maybe when the ball lands on zero, the Queen is having one of her episodes.

Maybe my Zero Targeting strategy is just how I handle the Queen when she goes off.
